Fantastic TV for the price. I use my laptop with an HDMI connection to run the TV. Everything looks great and works well. The sound quality is definitely above-par for a TV, but ofcourse can’t really compare to proper sound system. Lots of options and settings to tweak in the menus, which can be a little overwhelming, but I really appreciate them. Has a network connection (wired, or optional wireless), but it is only for media sharing capabilities, this TV does not support streaming Netflix. This was a bit of a disappointment for me, because I read a review where they said it does support Netflix. Oh well, aside from that, I highly recommend this TV to anyone who values high picture quality, very little artifacting (stuttering, shuddering, etc). The bezel attracts a lot of dust, but we have 2 cats, so we probably have more hair/dust flying around than most people.

I have had the TV for about a month. It was delivered as promised and set up. I did not notice at the time of delivery that there is a crack on the case and I don’t know who to contact to fix it. The picture is clear and I receive more channels than I get with comcast because i also receive some HD channels. I am not a sound expert so I am satisfied, although I have read other reviews that do not like the sound and add their own speakers. I have not read all the directions but what I want is easily operable.

Samsung, please stop making tvs! – Tanya Delgado – Sunny California
This is my third Samsung TV. The first one lasted all of 2 years, the second one less than that and the third lasted 3 years. I think it’s ridiculous that you pay 00 every couple years for a new tv because the one you bought is a piece of junk.
We also had a Samsung refrigerator that busted one month after the warranty ran out and a microwave that was repaired 2 times before the warranty wore out and then died shortly after.
I will be steering clear of their products.

Notice how they stop making a certain model of tv after 6 months? It’s so that people can’t review their products after actually using them for a reasonable amount of time. Of course your tv works for the first few months.

I can’t even get parts to fix them, they were made to break and be replaced, not repaired.

After waiting approximately 3 weeks to receive my purchase, I have enjoyed the quality of the Samsung 40″ tv. Price paid was fair, but not a bargain.

This TV has been GREAT! In my bedroom, it feels like a bigscreen. I have it set up about 10-12 feet away from where I sit in bed and I am loving it–the screen seems bigger than it really is. Picture is crisp, though you will notice the non-HD channels look grainy, but that’s not the TV’s fault! HD looks lovely on this screen.

I’ll address a few things:

Appearance: This set is sleek and attractive! It is shiny and collects dust, but so what? Dust your TV! Not a biggie. Contrary to some other reviews, I think the viewing angle is fine–the screen is easily visible even at some extreme angles. Plus, it’s a small TV–turn it a little! It is not heavy or hard to move. This is what I do.

Sound Quality: Sound quality is totally fine for bedroom use, but if you want to use this in a larger room, you may want to get some additional speakers. The speakers are on the underside of the TV which makes it look more streamlined but affects the sound level a bit. I’m thinking about getting speakers even for my bedroom, but that’s just me. I like explosion sounds to boom.

Remote: The remote is easy to use, but I can’t figure out how to fully sync it with my Fios remote. This may just be because I’m technologically-challenged, but I currently use both remotes. It partially synced, automatically–channel changes, etc., are on the Fios remote and volume/mute/power are on the TV remote. Oh well.

Haven’t used the iPod hookup yet, but it’s a cool feature to have!

Overall, I am VERY pleased with my purchase and love having this sized TV in my bedroom.

Out Of The Box ~ Beautiful ! – Ron G. – Illinois
PROS:
Received promptly … out of the box beautiful. The sound is as good as any, picture is perfect (no adjusting) necessary, pretty much “plug n’ play”.
CONS:
Nothing of consequence. Would prefer a stand alone dedicated sleep button on the remote… as is you have to go into the menue three steps, I believe it is to set it, and I’m using this tv as the bedroom unit.

I would recomend this Panasonic unit to anyone without reservations.

I love this TV – art chick – va, usa
I am very happy with this TV in every way. I love it! Just be aware that unless you have HD service, the TV picture won’t be in high-def. I hooked a game system up to the TV and then I was able to appreciate the HD.

This TV was easy to set up and the sound and the picture quality is great. I have a smaller Toshiba TV at home and this Panasonic TV is MUCH better in terms of picture quality and ease of set up. This TV had all the right settings immediately, whereas with the Toshiba I had to adjust the color sliders a lot to get a good picture.

TV Broadcast Engineer Rates Outstanding – Broadcast Engineer – Overland Park, KS
You have heard the story about the cobblers kids going to school with no shoes? Well as a TV Broadcast Engineer I was use to working with the best equipment at work and average equipment at home. Now with the DTV implementation completed I was ready to replace one CRT TV with a new digital set. I did much research and finally decided that for the price and features the Panasonic TC-L261 was the best buy. Oh… the price in Feb 2010 was only 9.00 not the 0 it is today.

I received the new set, set it up, and immediately ordered a second set for the bedroom.

I tested this set using some of the newest techniques and test equipment that I could put my hands on. There is not a set for the money that could meet these tests like the Panasonic TC-L261 did. Add the additional features like the slide shows with the SD cards, iPod hookup and you have a nice entertainment package in a compact size.

The only improvement I could recommend is to allow me to input a longer loop of music for the slide shows.

Samsung LN40B550 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color Review

Ihelps to be computer savy in order to understand and navigate through the steps in the user manual. The TV was delivered three days after I ordered it by Pilot Freight Services. I was very pleased with the manner the box was secured in the truck. The driver helped me carry the box inside the house but said he wasn’t allowed to unpack for inspection. As the TV weighs only 33 lbs I could do it by myself. I have never had any problems of any kind. So “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” We live in the country 20 miles away from the nearest farm and our house is surrounded other buildings. I replaced the old roof antenna with a new one and a twin lead with a coaxil cable. The TV picture is beyond our wildest expectations and the sound is superior to our old analogue TV. We receive over thirty stations. We watch the news from our dinner table 19 ft away and all other times we watch from 11 ft away. We wouldn’t want a larger size screen. The viewing angle is great. Besides watching VCR tapes we don’t use the other available features and therefore cannot comment on those.

I like the clarity of this basic HDTV but the sound is not that great like most TV’s
The only thing I don’t like is the amount of time it takes to switch channels. Being a channel switcher I don’t like the 5 or more seconds that it takes. Samsung said that probably will have a software fix in the future for this. Does anyone else have that problem?

Never buy – Matchload – Brooklyn NY
I bought an Ln550 and had it almost two years. It does not turn on now. It just clicks like a clock. A simple search on all samsung TV’s shows that they use cheap capacitors. They swell and burn out. You will have it happen right after your warranty is up. Samsung knows about the problem to they outsourced the costumer service to a place that is rude and hardly speaks English. With this name, you do not expect this but it is true. TV’s lasted 25 years. Now they seem to have a hard time making it to two years. Never buy Samsung.

Stay Away from Samsung – Kenneth Rosenberg – Plano, TX
I bought the predecessor to this set (LN-T4066F) and it went bad after 15 months. Even the CSR I spoke to at the company admitted they had seen this same problem before. There should have been a recall. Samsung hid behind the 1 year warranty so I paid 0 to repair it. It stopped working completely 2 months after that repair and now I’m told it’ll be 0 to fix. Bad reviews for this company are all over the internet. They buy the cheapest components. They sold me a lemon and won’t stand behind the product. Buyer beware!!

Awesome product. Description is weird because this is actually a TV plus monitor and not only monitor. Does what it says, 2 HDMI, 1 TV in, multiple component ports. Remote works fine. Picture is nice and crisp. Amazing quality. A must buy!

Samsung Touch Of Color T220HD 22-inch LCD HDTV Monitor Feature

  • Touch of Color bezel – While the crystal-like bezel frame catches light beautifully, it actually reduces reflection of light off the bezel.
  • Dolby Digital Surround: An invisible speaker system with Dolby Digital Surround (3 W x 2 ch) gives sound quality to match the impressive picture.
  • 10,000 – 1 Dynamic-Contrast Ratio – The ultra-wide range gives you blacks and whites that are full of detail, even under adverse lighting conditions
  • 300 cdm2 Brightness
  • The T220HD features a built-in full HD 1080p digital HDTV tuner, so you can watch both TV and HDTVDual HDMI inputs

Samsung Touch Of Color T220HD 22-inch LCD HDTV Monitor Overview

Imagine staring at the Samsung Touch of Color Series T220HD 22″ widescreen HDTV monitor. A luxurious glass-like frame with gracefully sculpted edges is fused to a rose-black bezel, giving a soft hint of rich red. The result is an elegant HDTV monitor that feels more like handcrafted artwork than a high-performance video display. The T220HD features a built-in digital HDTV tuner capable of HD 1080p, a USB hub and 2 HDMI connections. The Samsung T220HD 22″ widescreen HDTV monitor. On or off, it’s a thing of beauty. While the crystal-like bezel frame catches light beautifully, it actually reduces reflection of light off the bezel. And since the rich red color is injection molded for a blown glass effect, instead of spray painted, there is less environmental impact. It’s easy on your eyes as well as on the environment.

Great Price LG 32LD450 for $497.99

LG 32LD450 32-Inch 1080p 60Hz LCD HDTV Review

Buy from Amazon.com
After comparison shopping for a LCD set to replace my current Sharp Aquos LC20D42U (also reviewed), I settled on this TV.

I’m not going to write a book – but the following are my initial impressions.

Given that my outgoing Sharp display had only 1 HDMI input, the LG’s 2 inputs are acceptable for my needs (HD cable/DVR & PS3) but for others with more peripherals (stand alone Blu-Ray, DVD, multiple gaming consoles, etc), 2 HDMI inputs may not be enough. The set also has a component input (probably acceptable for use w/ a non-upscaling DVD player).

Unboxing the TV in my living room, I cranked all my lights to check for blemishes / defects. While the TV was in good condition, both the screen and the glossy black bezel had hand/finger prints in multiple locations. I’m not sure if this happened at the factory (made in Mexico) or if I got a unit that had been previously unboxed (manuals, remote, stand were all still in sealed plastic – so I’m guessing factory), but it was a little unsettling, even at this price point. It took me a few extra minutes to wet a cloth and clean the TV before setting it up.

The glossy black bezel is unremarkable – it doesn’t look bad, but it does look (and feel) a little cheap. This is not a TV I would mount or place conspicuously – especially among high quality peripherals, audio equipment or as the anchor of an expensive entertainment center (of course it’s doubtful that a 32″ TV would typically form the center of an expensive piece of furniture like that).

After setting the TV up, I obviously turned it on. I was not immediately impressed. Like most new TV’s, this one is pre-programmed to default to wild backlight / brightness / color settings (with the aim of display sets not washing out under bright store lights, I presume). After spending some time tuning the picture, I was able to achieve settings that were to my liking. The tuned picture is fairly impressive at this price point – solid processing, even backlighting, good black levels for a CCFL-backlit TV, and fairly accurate color although off-angle viewing could be better. Speaking of tuning, the menu / interface is very simple and very easy to use – both because of good menu design and also because there are not a whole lot of features on this set to be configured.

Which brings me to features – this is not among the next generation of LCD TV’s; it has no LED backlight, it is not 120hz, it is not thinner than a strand of hair, it does not connect wirelessly or offer widgets or video streaming, and it is not 3D compatible (a feature I sincerely hope does not catch on for cinema or television – who wants to wear 3D glasses all evening?).

But if you don’t want to spend a lot, don’t need the TV to be a conversation piece while it is turned off, don’t need to the TV to perform functions that your other devices would likely make redundant, and are looking primarily for decent quality picture and good value – then I’d recommend this TV to you.

Just ok. – M. Hiner – Bridgeport, WV
I bought this product in April 2010 from Amazon. My first TV of this kind. At that time the price was the exact same as Sears(checked model #) and shipping was Free on Amazon, so I ordered from Amazon. CEVA shipping was Fast and GREAT.

Took me a while to get used to this.

THanks to a previous reviewer, I knew what to do when the room got dark so does the picture (stupid idea); but TBone from CA provided the answer for that turn off the Eco Picture and that solves that problem.

I thought the TV had auto adjust volumn, still have not figured that out. After reading a review, I might have to go back into the settings.

The volumn is poor as speakers are in the back, I do not have or plan to have surround sound, so this is a negative for me. Had I realized this I would have bought a different brand with the speakers in front, of which, now I realize there are plenty of them out there.

I am sure this is a good tv for some, but it does not impress me.
FOund the settings very hard to get thru and set.

These sets all crap out in under two years–buyer beware – Buster Brindle – San Francisco, CA
This set was amazing–great picture quality, worked well, etc., but then at about the two year mark the set simply just started turning itself on then off then on and then off etc. endlessly without even touching the remote control. I did a web search and, apparently, this is a VERY common problem with Samsung LCD TV sets. It appears that inferior capacitors are used and that the tops of the capacitors literally fall off over time, causing the sets to be stuck in a start-up/shut-down loop. This is too bad because, while the set worked, it was the best picture I’ve ever had on a TV set. However, when I spend K for a TV, I expect it to last longer than two years.

Great HDTV – Martin Shultz –
I made this purchase based off the reviews from CNET and Consumer Reports. I must say I’m not disappointed, great picture, good sound, at a good price.

Hard to beat too when you get free shipping to your door and no sales tax.
